Open sub menu when parent menu is clicked

Resolved

Requested: 1 year and 3 months ago

hello, I have created a page hierarchy for my website, but I want to make a few parent pages unclickable on the side menu. if you refer to the image attached below, the parent pages are “Faculty” & “Research”. what I want is when I click on one of the parent pages, the child pages should show up and the parent page should not open up. Is there a way we can do that?

    Hi Digital,

This may be accomplished by checking the following widget options.

    1. Enable accordion menu.
    2. Use links for open/close.
    3. Child links.
      1. To check this option, you must first uncheck the “All levels” option.

    These options will.

    • Enable accordion menus.
    • Open/close the accordion sections when the first level children are clicked.
      • The first level children are the level you are using as the top level.
    • Allow links on lower levels, such as grandchildren, to function like normal links.

More information on accordion options may be found here.

    Have a great day!

Hello, thank you for your response.

So there are just a few parent pages that needs this option. The rest of it needs to be working how they are working currently. So for that, how do I go about it? do I need to create multiple sidebar menus, or how?

    Thanks

    Hi Digital,

Yes, the most straight forward way to use different widgets options on different pages is to use multiple widgets.

Hello, I was working on your instructions, and if you see “faculty” and “research”  are the child pages of parent page Faculty and Research. The issue I’m facing is that for the research page it doesn’t act as an accordion even when it has the same parent page as the Faculty. Could you kindly help me with this

    Hi Digital,

You may enabled accordions for both child pages when on any page in the menu by checking the “Always display child pages” option.

    Have a great night!

    Hi Digital,

It seems your example pages has been moved. Can you send me a link to where I can see the menu?
