Filter to include parent cat title and description

Resolved

Requested: 5 years and 4 months ago

Hi – I’d like to display the parent category name as the widget title and the parent category description below title/above the subcat list on both category archive and single post pages.  Will need to assign some CSS classes to both the title and description. I’m only using subcats of the parent category in this menu, and have that working correctly using the widget’s settings.  Thanks in advance.

Actually, I’ve figured this out using the pre and after render filters, so unless you have something really swell to share, I think this ticket can be closed.

    Thank you!

    Hi Susan,

Great! I’m glad you figure this out.

Here is one example of how to do this in case anyone else needs something like this:

    Have a great night!

This is better than what I did.
