Anchor ID menu styling

Resolved

Requested: 5 years and 5 months ago

I have a menu with anchor ids. Each item is to scroll to that section of the page. The ‘current’ item is styling all of the anchors instead of just the one anchor.

Plugin: Advanced Sidebar Menu

    Hi Holly,

Because all the anchors point to the same page (the current page) they are receiving the current-page-item class and therefore the ‘current’ styles. As this plugin has no way of knowing which anchor might be the current one, it is unable to differentiate between them.

    Have a great night!

I’m having trouble with the accordion staying open when on a child page: http://box5717.temp.domains/~soberven/test/how-it-works/

    Hi Holly,

If you un-check “Keep all accordion sections closed until clicked” the menu will open to the current level when the page loads.

Ok but I don’t want the accordions open until clicked and then I want the accordion to stay open if on the child page. Is this possible?

If you add a little Custom CSS to your site the icons will hide when the menu is open which will prevent the accordion menus from being closed after being opened. You may then leave “Keep all accordion sections closed until clicked” checked.

This will only target the menu when on a child page.

Thank you for you quick response!

That isn’t working for me. When going to a child page the accordion isn’t opened?

Here is a screen cast if what I am seeing:

    1. Are you seeing something different?
    2. Is this something different than what you are requesting?

When the viewer goes to the ‘how it works’ page, I would like the accordion to already be open so they can see their active place in the navigation. In your screencast, the viewer has to open the accordion to see that they are under Program Services.

From what I understand, all you need to do now is un-check “Keep all accordion sections closed until clicked” and everything will work as desired.

    Have a great weekend!

No, if I uncheck that option, when you go to any page all of the accordions are open. I only want the accordion to be open when you go to the child page.
