Hi Matt,
Is there any way we can add a link to a page that shows all On Sale products currently in my store? Maybe by checking for the on_sale attribute or something like that?
Also, there have been a number of updates from you which is great, but now in my widget area I see, seemingly, two instances of the plugin: one titled Advanced Sidebar Categories Menu: Filter By Category and another titled Advanced Sidebar Categories Menu: Perhaps You Can Find What You’re Looking For …
Is that normal?

Hi Dave,
This plugin does not have anything built in for generating an “on sale” page, however I did a quick Google search and there are a few very easy options for creating such page. Once the page is created, you may add it to your page hierarchy and it will show up in the menu like any other page.
While I think it would be cool for my plugin to be smart enough to create widgets on it’s own and even cooler if it could come up with cleaver names for the titles like “Perhaps You Can Find What Youβre Looking For ⦔, π the plugin does not have the ability to generate widgets on its own. This is likely a widget left over from some previous testing.
Have a great day!

Yeah I thought that second one was a bit odd. As far as the On Sale page goes, I did create a page to show the on sale products just using a short code. However, when I add the Advanced Sidebar Pages widget, it will only show whatever pages I select under “Top Level Page To Use Under This Widget” drop down. No other page shows up in the menu.

Hi Dave,
Is the page you are trying to get to show up a child page of the selected “Top Level Page” ?
If you send me some links it may make troubleshooting easier π
Have a great night!

There are no child pages at all. I am trying to get the following pages to show up.
On Sale & Special Promos (This does show up because I added it as the top level page, which seems to be the only way to get it to show up.
About, Returns, My Account, Lost Password and Contact.

Actually, it occurs to me you might need a log in?? Let me know.

Hi Dave,
If you assign the pages you would like to show up to a parent page and select the parent page as the top level page, the child pages will display.
Without a parent/child relationship, the menu has no way to know which pages should show up.
Alternatively, you may use the “Advanced Sidebar Navigation Menu” widget which will allow you to use the standard WordPress Custom Menus to organize the menu any way you like.
Have a great night!

Well the Navigation Widget is fine but I want to only use a few pages from the Pages menu I have at the top and then add in this On Sale page. I cannot or do not want to add the On Sale page to the top so it will show up in this sidebar menu. However, adding a blank page as a parent page and then assigning the pages I want to use in this new menu works, although a bit funky because people can actually still get to this page but I can maybe come up with some relative content for the page. Not perfect but workable.
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
You may create a custom Navigation Menu just for use with the widget and select it using the widget. This way you may include just the pages you would like π
