Summary

Built as a custom WordPress plugin and theme, the UI is a combination of PHP and React driven elements which take advantage of the server’s varnish cache and the user’s browser cache. Behind the scenes, resource-intensive requests and calculations are completed, but for the user the experience is instantaneous.

Content is loaded immediately without any requests being completed until the user enters the Live Odds tab. Within the Live Odds tab a request is made to the server for retrieval of potentially cached information on all current events which support betting. All of the calculations and massaging of data is handled by the back-end and cached for a reasonable period of time. This assures users will receive current information without waiting for API requests nor calculations.

A few third party widget integrations make this a full-featured betting experience.
