Is Pro appropriate for SSL conversion?
On testing receiving the “site not accessible” message.
Thanks Mat.

Hi Ed,
Yes. A common use for this plugin is to switch to SSL.
Without knowing the entered Old and New URL I can’t say for sure why the plugin is unable to access the site.
If you manually replace the entered Old URL with the entered New URL exactly as they are entered and go the result in a browser you will be able to see if the site is accessible. If the site does not load, or has errors it is not accessible on the New URL.
For instance if the entered Old URL were http://sub.test.com and the new entered New URL were https://test.com you would enter http://test.com in your browser and see if the site is accessible.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Mat Lipe.

In this case then following your instructions to reset the “siteurl” and “home” rows should bring the site back on a failed conversion?
Thanks Mat.

Hi Ed,
Yes, replace those rows with the original URL then run the plugin again using the opposite settings from the first time.
Have a great night!

Guess I missed the notification of your response.
Have added some additional information.
Thanks Mat.

Adding this to .htaccess allows for all green test. Should I be using this on all sites that don’t convert or?

Hi Ed,
That htaccess will redirect any requests which are http to https. This can be very useful for redirecting all traffic to SSL and is recommended when converting any site to SSL.
I also took a look at the domains you provided in the private info:
The first one stor…. has a valid certificate installed and appears to be setup correctly. This one looks ready to go for conversion.
The second one harbor… does not have a valid certificate installed and will not work until a valid certificate is installed on the server.
Cheers
