Replace Highest Level Page Links with expand / collapse of Sidebar Menu

Resolved

Requested: 2 years and 1 month ago

We have a page hierarchy included on a sidebar widget and we would like the highest-level page links replaced by the anchor to expand and collapse the menu.  I thought selecting “Highest level parent links” under “Levels of links to use for open/close” did that, but it does not.  What does “Levels of links to use for open/close” do? If it doesn’t do this, how do we make this happen?

    Hi Camacho,

    The “Levels of links to use for open/close” option is based on your full pages hierarchy.

    For instance, if you are not using the “Display the highest level parent page” option, then the level of your pages being displayed is actually the “Child links”. If you would like the top level of the displayed items to be use for the open/close you would select the “Child links” option.

    Using this example page hierarchy in the WordPress admin:

    • Top Page -> Highest level parent links (will not be shown if “Display the highest level” option is not checked).
      • Child #1 -> Child links
        • Grandchild #1 -> Grandchild links
      • Child #2 -> Child links
      • Child #3 -> Child links
        • Grandchild #2 -> Grandchild links.

    Please let us know if you have any questions.
