By default the category widget will limit the levels to 3, however you may change this to 10 by adding the following filter to your active theme’s functions.php file:
If you prefer not to use a filter, you may instead use the “Always display child categories” option which lets you chose the levels of categories to display.
For the issue with accordions, I see the example menu only has 1 level of menu items. For accordions to function, the menu must have at least 2 levels of menu items. Otherwise, it won’t have anything to open or close.
If you would like to make your existing navigation menu an accordion menu, you may use the following steps:
Add a new “Custom Links” to your existing menu.
Give it a “#” URL which will prevent it from sending the user to a new page.
Set the link text to something descriptive like “Related Content” or “Menu.
Move all existing menu items under the new item.
In the widget settings check the box marked, “Include highest level parent in accordion”.
This will display your custom link as the top level parent and have all the existing menu items within an accordion.
It appears the sidebar widget may be using a different menu than the one which is shown in the header of the site. Please select the same menu which is shown in the header of the site for the filters to start working.
Are you requesting the menu show 2 levels instead of just the bottom level? Using your screenshot as an example, if a user is viewing any of the the KEOAAIO or ENOTHTA pages, the menu would show all of the KEOAAIO and ENOTHTA pages?
This series of filters will limit the menu to display the current item’s siblings and the first level of it’s children. When on the bottom level, the current item’s parent, the parent’s siblings, and the current item’s siblings will display. The menu will always be 2 or less levels.
For this to work, you must:
Uncheck the widget option “Display the current item’s section only”.
1) You may change the title of the widget to the current page’s title by using the following filter. Note: this filter requires version 8.2.2 of the PRO plugin which was released this morning.
2) I’m afraid this is not possible because all menu items are on the same level so this plugin has no way to determine which items are to be show and which should be hidden.
