How to undo URL change

Resolved

Requested: 1 year and 4 months ago

I created a URL change from our dev.wpengine.com environment to our live site. Now I cannot access any pages in that dev.wpengine.com as it keeps redirecting me. How do people normally deal with this? I tried to change the direction from prod to dev, restored backups to pre-redirect AND deactivated the plugins. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Sam,

If the site has been restored to a backup which was using the dev. domain then the issue could be something with the domain settings of the cache on WP Engine.

1st thing to check is the “Domain” settings

Under the list of domains for the environment make sure that the dev. domain is listed. If not, click the “+ Add domain” button and add the domain there.

    Next, try flushing the caches

Under the “Cache” settings, click the “Clear all caches” button and give it a few minutes to reset.

    If that doesn’t work

WP Engine support may be able to sort out the issue.

Otherwise, if you would like to give us access to the WP Engine dashboard, we can take a look and see if we can help.
