Customize The Accordion Menu

Resolved

Requested: 2 years and 10 months ago

Hello, I just purchased the plugin and can’t seem to select anything else than categories or product categories in the taxonomy section. I want to make a menu with custom pages linking together.  I got in touch by email already but now I purchased the plugin.

Thank you

    Hello Ghassan,

    Changing the icons to match your example may be accomplished by adding this filter to your active theme’s functions.php file. One you have the menu in place I can assist you with styling if needed.

    add_filter( 'advanced_sidebar_menu_accordion_styles', 'asm_fa_icons' );
    function asm_fa_icons( $styles ) {
       $styles['arrow']['expand']   = '<i class="fa fa-plus-square left_menu_79" aria-hidden="true"></i>';
       $styles['arrow']['contract'] = '<i class="fa left_menu_3 fa-minus-square" aria-hidden="true"></i>';

       return $styles;
    }

    If you check the option “Display widget on every page” while using the “Advanced Sidebar Pages Menu” you will be able to select a parent page and create a menu based on the selected page and it’s children.

    I can confirm the accordion feature also works when “Display widget on every page” is checked and a page with children is selected as the parent page. (Example: Shop).

    I’m not familiar with Elementor, however I took a quick look at your page settings and it appears you are able to select a sidebar on the page edit screen. Adding the widget to the sidebar you select will allow it to appear on an Elementor page. If you would like an Elementor page to appear in the menu, you must ad it as a child page of the parent page you select in the widget settings.

    Hello mat, Thank you for your response.

    However, I am not able to do anything. I added a menu navigation to my sidebar to show you what I am looking to do.

    I have tried adding parent pages to some of the pages but nothing is showing and if when I select ” show on all pages ,

    it only shows the page I selected in the drop down ( product ) and no accordion is showing.

    I really don’t understand the widget and I’m not sure if it’s working on my end.

    I don’t know if you can get on the dashboard to check it out or help me with something. I really need the widget!

    Thank you

    This widget uses the standard WordPress page hierarchy to generate the menus. To add pages to the menu, you assign them to the “Products” page as their parent using the “Page Attributes” meta box.

    It’s also worth noting that because “Products” is password protected, you do have to enter in the password before you see the full menu.

    I have created a test page here which I currently have set to private. If you change this page to Public and view it, you will see it appears under “Products” in the menu.

    Hello Mate , Thank you for your fast response .

    I understand how to link pages for the parent and child pages. But I can’t seem to go further than 2 .

    Example I need to link these pages together : ( fictional )

    Products ( MAIN )  —>   Shop stainless steel —>   News —–>  Contact

    I tried to link shop stainless steel to products. It’s fine. But when I link News to Shop stainless steel it doesn’t show.

    I want them to show as a dropdown like I showed you.  https://www.industrialspec.com/shop/plastic-fittings.html

    Sorry for all the hassle but I need to build a long sidebar and it’s crucial to my site.
