Accordion Icon Requires precise click to expand

In the widget menu I’m using the accordion icon requires fairly precise clicking. I’d like to widen the clickable area of the icon to make it easier for folks to click. I’m trying to adjust css but not getting far. Any ideas?

    This icon sizes may be adjusted using the font-size declaration.
